VOLUNTEER AT OUR CHILDREN'S HOME

Typical Duration of Program: 2 weeks – 12 months

Dates: Throughout the year

Your Role as a volunteer: Join and help Orphans in need! Teach them English, play games, play sports, counseling, helping orphanage staff and more. We work with the needy orphans... Come and experience what life is beyond the square you live in!

What kind of skills require for this placement:

You will need to be flexible, and have patience, compassion and enthusiasm to face the many hurdles and challenges that you will inevitably encounter within your role. To ensure that you get the most out of and contribute fully to your placement, a pro-active attitude is essential. Volunteers at this orphanage must have, above all, a love of children and a commitment to the project.


Program Location:

Our orphanage project is based in Njoro town, Nakuru District or Rift valley province. There are shops and banks nearby. Volunteers stay in guest houses near the orphanage.
Working Hours: Flexible 20-30 hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Who Can Volunteer: Anyone from 18-65 years

Experience: No

Meal: In most cases your meals are cooked and provided for you by the guest home. You will be getting 2 meals per day (Breakfast, Dinner) Traditional but very nutritious.

Food Type - Vegetarian and sometimes meat

Lunch - You will have your lunch at the project (What the kids eat for lunch) 

Accommodation: 

Residential guest house. Volunteers share room with fellow volunteers.

This Program is open to: World Wide Participants. This Program is also open to Families, Couples and Individuals.

In – Country travel assistance: If participants like to travel around, we provide with full support for bookings & arrangements to travel within the country.

IN COUNTRY SAFARIS - $70 PER PERSON PER DAY.

Included: Vehicle and guide/driver 

NOT INCLUDED: Fuel, Park fees, food and drinks during safari, Accommodation during safari.

 

 

 

 

 

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM EXPENSES. $30

 Per day per person

The program fee includes:

  • Transportation to the project and return
  • Orientation
  •  Accommodation and meals
  •  Internet services

APPLICATION FEE. $ 150

Application fee includes:-

Airport Receive/ Transfer: Our representative will greet you at the airport and will transfer you to your placement/home stay.

Orientation:  orientation will be provided by our staff. We cover areas like, culture, greetings, locations, transportation etc. Each participant will be provided with a local Map of Nakuru.

Administration: Pre Departure Information and application processing. 

Why do I have to pay to volunteer?
The resources within our community are very much limited and cannot support your costs for meals, accommodation, transportation and supervision hence we charge minimal fee to take care for that.
